Rawl honors employees, customers at 90th anniversary celebration

About 80 employees and customers of W.P Rawl & Sons Inc., a greens grower-packer-shipper in Pelion, SC, gathered here Feb. 26 in a family reunion atmosphere to celebrate the company’s 90th anniversary. The event was held in conjunction with the Southeast Produce Council’s Southern Exposure show.

Quality Assurance Manager Rejoins WP Rawl

Nancy Shimabukuro has returned to Pelion, S.C.-based WP Rawl as senior quality assurance manager. Shimabukuro previously had the same role for the leafy greens grower, processor and shipper. After almost eight years with the company she took a sabbatical in 2013.

WP Rawl doubling fresh-cut production capacity

The Pelion, S.C.-based grower-shipper of leafy greens and other vegetables is in the middle of upgrading processing lines which are expected to nearly double the company’s production capacity. Scheduled to be completed by early spring, the changes are expected to improve WP Rawl’s production line efficiencies and production capacity.
